Name: Cecil Harvey
Occupation: Captain of the Red Wings
Height: 5'10" (1.78 m)
Weight: 128 lbs (58 kg) (Note: Square, WTF?)
Cecil Harvey is the hero of Final Fantasy IV.
He's not always a nice guy, but he tries to be a good one. At the start of the game, he is the captain of Baron's air force, the Red Wings. Baron has been bringing other nations to their knees on its neverending quest for glory and blood. After one particularly grusome massacre, Cecil questions his king and his place in the world. This leads him on, you guessed it, an epic quest in which the villains are killed, the world is saved, and everyone learns something about themselves in the end.
While this may not seem like very much, Final Fantasy IV was a revolution when I first played it, and it continues to be exceptionally enjoyable. The storyline is full of twists and near-deaths and sacrifices and darkness and triumph. Cecil is interesting as he wrestles with his own conscience, and later he is a beacon of light in a world that needs illuminating.
Cecil also has the possibly worst name among all the Final Fantasy male leads. And that's an accomplishment.
