Grace DoubleNegative

I have my reasons

The original idea for a Zelda shrine came when I read a rant at #unreal against fanlistings- she thought that those who own them should try to elaborate more and "prove" that they love the subject. Well, at that point I had just opened my fanlisting for Sheik and I realized I had never thought about making a shrine to Zelda. I then thought, "Why not?" because I've always felt that Zelda was an underappreciated and inherently awesome character.

As I did more and more research I found that Zelda I liked Zelda more the more I thought about it. Her profile, her grace, and her power- the innocence of a claivoyant little girl paired with the steely resolve of a young woman under extreme duress, it's hard for me not to like her. She's worth a second look and many more looks besides, and she's the most developed character in the game, at least in my opinion.

What's more, there are so few strong female characters in video games. Usually, they're just something that the game designers stick boobs to. Too often, people confuse the whole "strong female character" with "female character with a gun." But there's more to it than that. Zelda may seem like a damsel in distress, but she's the guiding force in the game. She's a leader, she has her own agenda, a feirce sense of duty and can be incredibly self-sacrificing. She's not perfect: Link himself is one of her causualties. But she is fascinating.

That, coupled with the fact that Ocarina of Time is a game that I've always wanted to explore further, is why I made this shrine. The girl deserves all support she can get.
